Hey everybody, Fall is in the air we had a cool front go through which was nice. humidity and temps went down. we appreciate while there here. most of the year we are warm and humid, great for those snowbirds that want to escape the cold during the holiday season. some years your spending christmas in shorts and short sleeves. by the way Mardi Gras is Feb. 16 2010. last year was a fantastic day. beautiful weather. you can view some pics my family took on that day go to faceboook and become a friend with sunroamersrv. we are dedicated fans of Mardi Gras and there are alot of parades in surrounding communities that lead up to Mardi Gras day. the weekend before Mardi Gras is the busiest time if you want a full brunt of parades I'ts real difficult to catch them all even if that is possible, there will be two or three a day in the city and also parades going on in different towns including the coast. my wife and I pride ourselves in being proffesionals, well maybe my wife, she plans and studys which parades are throwing what and when and how we can go from one to another, she knows the good throwing parades from the lesser throwing ones, even good places to park and where to stand. We have our favorite parade on Mardi Gras day which we get up early in the morning and head out to a full day of fun food and throws. every year we come home with garbage bags full of goodies it's amazing! our children are older now and we only have one left at home but when they were little they were so excited they would chase floats. now I dont recommend this to the newcomers to this sport but my kids had it down to a fine art.Of course they were teenagers and full of energy and had their friends with them which ups the anty. my wife will chase from time to time. now you can't do this at some parades as they are baracaded but if you know which ones to go to your in! for anybody that has never been to a Mardi Gras parade you are missing out on good ole fashion fun! if you show up here a little after the first of the year and stay through Mardi Gras you will be more than entertained, youll have keepsakes, memories, pics, and a strange thrill of accomplishment.I hope you give a try, you wont be dissappointed!! Best wishes and happy camping. Greg.
